Debbie can do a badass handstand (with gloves on!). She’s been at 3rd Street a little over a year, and is already a solid member of the #3rdstreettribe. 🤸♀️
How did you get into boxing and how did you find yourself at 3rd Street?
“I heard about 3rd street from talking to another passenger in my Uber ride one day soon after I moved to the city last year. I was looking for a gym that would challenge my strength and cardio and push me to my limits. I also love learning new ways to work out so boxing was intriguing to me.”
What's the best part about boxing? Why do you train?
“Boxing is similar to yoga in my mind, in that it really helps me clear my head to then refocus my energy for the rest of the day. Very unlike yoga in that I get to use my breath to punch something really hard which is very fun. I train to stay healthy physically and mentally.”
Any words of advice or encouragement for newbies?
“Don't beat yourself up about remembering all the different punches and their numbers, it will soon become second nature!”
