How did you get into boxing and how did you find yourself at 3rd Street?

“My dad did amateur boxing and I always remember how he would teach me punches with the heavy bag. I found 3rd Street when I was in a stressful time of my life, I would always feel very zen after the Tough Love classes. I think the energy here is hard to emulate at other gyms - genuine, no bullshit attitude and everyone trainer/client is passionate about the sport beyond just looking good (but you'll look amazing!).

What's the best part about boxing? Why do you train?

“I enjoy the mindful movements about boxing; you learn to focus and train your mind to work with your own body kinetics, you'll move differently over time, more agile, kind of like a cat stalking his prey lol...

Any words of advice or encouragement for newbies?

"Show up. Keep up. It's really fun once you get into it, the energy here is contagious and you'll build up athletic skills that's more than just aesthetics.

What's the best part about boxing? Why do you train?

“Boxing is an incredible workout - both strength and cardio. But, different than other workouts, when I box I’m not focused on burning calories or building muscle, I feel like I’m learning a new sport that’s both technical and fun!”

Any words of advice or encouragement for newbies?

“You must give boxing (at Third Street) a try. The trainers are so helpful and not intimidating. They’re able to help anyone at any level.”
